Hi - good to see you again.
Don't forget - leave a message on the Contact Wizzer page if I can help with anything

This post is not strictly to do with blogging beginners . I think I was Stumbling – I just don’t remember – but I found this post a few days ago and just had to share it.

It’s called 39 Ways To Live And Not Merely Exist and is written by Leo Babauta.

As you know I seldom read complete articles (I bore very easily but also have too much to do!) but I read every word of Leo’s post.

Do you ever get caught with that feeling -”what’s it all about?” or “why am I doing this?”

I’ve been feeling really negative towards financial services of late – I won’t bore you with the reasons – suffice to say I’m sick of “holier than thou” beauracratic heads of psuedo Government departments who are inept, overpaid pipsqueaks! I think you get my point!

Back to Leo. I started reading his post about 39 Ways To Live and it got me thinking that we are all really chasing a dream but most of us get totally caught up in day to day life that we just don’t enjoy the journey.

If you ever feel discouraged, bored with your lot or just need some inspiration take a trip over to Leo’s post. I think you’ll like it.

Come back here and tell me your favourite out of his 39 points.

Mine are points 1 to 39 except 29, 31 & 33  (none of which do I indulge in anyway!)

    Loved the post.

    I’m liking numbers: 17, 18, 30, 37, 38, 39.

But the rest are pretty cool too.

Ah ha – desserts are on you then Sharon (not literally!!)

After you and David commented I went back and re-read those posts and found some deeper meanings I’d overlooked first time. Like Kissing In The Rain. As nice as that in itself may be it’s the sentiment of doing something spontaneously just for the sake of it, the enjoyment and for someone else that really appeal
s to me. Thanks for letting me know your list.

Good ideas and many are often overlooked or brushed aside for what we think is more important issues.

    My favorites:

    7. Find your passion. This one asks you to find your calling. Make your living by doing the thing you love to do. First, think about what you really love to do. There may be many things. Find out how you can make a living doing it. It may be difficult, but you only live once.

    15. Be positive. Learn to recognize the negative thoughts you have. These are the self-doubts, the criticisms of others, the complaints, the reasons you can’t do something. Then stop yourself when you have these thoughts, and replace them with positive thoughts. Solutions. You can do this!

    16. Open your heart. Is your heart a closed bundle of scar tissue? Learn to open it, have it ready to receive love, to give love unconditionally. If you have a problem with this, talk to someone about it. And practice makes perfect.

    23. Play with children. Children, more than anyone else, know how to live. They experience everything in the moment, fully. When they get hurt, they really cry. When they play, they really have fun. Learn from them, instead of thinking you know so much more than them. Play with them, and learn to be joyful like them.

Hey David Thanks for taking the time to really read that post.

I know how much #23 means to you & I agree wholeheartedly. When I read through that list I was taken with how many I’m really in tune with.

absolutely true, you need to wake up in order to complete your dream, somebody said terrorist don’t think too much, they just act (thou it’s bad example),but still if you want to act, you have to stop thinking uselessly.

  4. Melvin (1 comments.) says:

Well what I can say is that I always chase for every dream I dream about. I also like his point 31… I can somehow relate to it.

    2. Get outside. There;s something about fresh air and nature that keeps you grounded.

    4. morning rituals…. sunrises! Its like viewing art work each morning.

    5. take chances. Its how you grow.

    12. rediscover whats important. It’s too easy to get busy with life and forget the simple pleasures in life.

    21. touch humanity.

    23. play with children. Are we supposed to grow up??? You always learn from children.

    38 and 39.

Great list and it really does make you take a second look at life and living.

It’s hard to select just a few from that list – I found most of them totally relevant.

I’d add that in addition to “taking chances” you have to learn from those that don’t work out. Then keep taking chances – don’t stop because of some failures!
