Regular visitors will know I had a little competition going on with Randy – and here’s proof that his blogging instructions work.
I took his keyword “blogging instructions” and thought I’d see if I could use his methods and leapfrog him on the first page of Google results for that term. (click on image for full screen & then on your browsers BACK button to return here)

So following blogging instructions from someone who knows what they are doing is clearly a very good thing to do!
Not one penny was spent in getting those results, just good old fashioned search engine optimisation and keyword research as taught by Randy at Blogging Beginners.
It’s probably about time I started hearing your success stories using these strategies – you must be up there by now – OR maybe you haven’t followed the instructions

For google search Backyard Oasis I am on front page google between position 4 to 7 most of the time. I think I have position 6 and 7 right now. I am trying something with Randy to see if I can move up. I think there are 233, 000 listings.
For backyard oasis paradise I am on front page in three positions.
And for small space garden, a bit of a different keyword phase than I thought I would rank for at first I am position 4 and 5 out of 17,000,000. Its actually a good keyword for me and helps with driving traffic up.
There are several other keywords that are front page too, so that’s good. I have never ending categories to write in
Keyword seo is actually very interesting and very challenging. In the last 2 1/2 months working and analyzing seo and keywords has made an amazing difference in my sites. Its also an area that I need more time and work in. Its too easy to fall back on bad habits. Denise

Seriously, there is a bigger issue here. Rankings and positions are great for the ego but it’s traffic that’s great for the pocket!
It’s like listening to all those crazy businessmen that boast about their turnover. I could bnever understand that. If you’re selling space craft your turnover will be high but that doesn’t have anything to do with profit. Likewise ranking are potentially great but if they’re for keywords that no one is searching for – it means very little.
Now that’s not the case here, because everyone has done their keyword research first but any non Blogging Beginners members should be wary of aiming for good rankings if the keyword research hasn’t been done first.
No problem at all Mark. I want to see everyone on the front page. It really helps traffic and I have to admit its fun trying to knock a long term site down under you…. Don’t I sound cruel! Denise
